Future of Project Management with PMP

The project management has been in existence since the beginning of civilization. We can’t imagine that the Ancient Egyptians would ever be able to build the great pyramids without proper project management like planning, meeting timelines, taking care of budgets and someone taking in-charge of the project. However, the Project Management Institute (PMI)was founded in 1969 and now there are nearly 1 million PMI certified professionals around the world. With years, project management has seen numerous changes, so what’s the future of project management?

1.    Project Management with AI

Machine learning and Artificial Intelligence (AI) is set to bring major changes in project management. Many professionals around the world believe that AI will change their working within the next 2-3 years. AI is capable to automate the everyday decision making, project management, and offer performance insights. Project assistants like have already led their way by assisting with team coordination, measuring practices and administration tasks.

We cannot assure the future of AI for project management as it is at its initial stage, but soon AI will be dominating project management. AI has the potential to improve performance, increase efficiency and eliminate the risk for industries that rely on process, accuracy, analysis and task management.

2.    Project Management with AR and VR

Augmented Reality (AR) and Virtual Reality (VR) are trending for the past few years now, with different wearables and solutions saturating the industry. AR and VR are the future for industries such as construction, real estate, and engineering. Businesses are adopting these technologies rapidly to improve operations and processes to save thousands of dollars and manpower.

Although new technologies are every now and then, the need for human interaction and discussion in the project management will always be predominant. As the agile project management states, a face to face discussion is the most effective way to convey information.

So, if you’ve several years of working experience in the Project Management industry, you must be wondering what should be the next step?
